Mobile grandstands for the NitrOlympx 2023

Our team had the opportunity to construct three temporary grandstands at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg for the NitrOlympX 2023, with a total seating capacity of 4,446. The grandstands, consisting of a VIP grandstand, a press grandstand, and a spectator grandstand, were set up along the ¼ mile racetrack by our assembly team.

The NitrOlympX is a spectacular drag racing event that takes place every year at the Hockenheimring. It is the largest drag racing event outside of the USA and attracts motorsport fans from all over who want to experience the thrill of high-speed acceleration. This year, nearly 43,000 spectators visited the Hockenheimring, which transformed into a paradise for all drag racing enthusiasts for the 36th time.

The NitrOlympX 2023 took place from August 25th to 27th and are the fourth of five stages of the FIA and FIM Drag Racing European Championship. In addition to professional classes such as Top Fuel, Pro Modified, or Pro Stock Bike, numerous sportsman classes and the new Extreme Outlaw Challenge also participated. There was also a diverse supporting program and the popular Nightshow on Saturday evening, offering a breathtaking mix of entertainment, action, and speed.

One of the biggest adjustments compared to previous years is the changed angle of inclination of the grandstand structures. From 25% (approximately 14°) to now 37.5% (approximately 20.6°). This allows spectators to have an even better view of the racing action and creates a more intense atmosphere for fans and professionals. The press grandstand was carefully planned and designed to provide journalists and photographers with optimal conditions.

The biggest challenge of the project was the dismantling process. All grandstand structures had to be dismantled and removed within 36 hours. The construction of the grandstand was carried out by 24 experienced assembly helpers within 4 days.
